Lieke Schrijvers is a scholar of religion, gender and race. She works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Religion and Theology, VU Amsterdam, in the NWO sponsored project ‘Unequal Partners? An Ethnographic Study of Christian-Jewish and Christian-Muslim Couples in the Netherlands.’ Before, she worked as a lecturer in religious studies at the University of Amsterdam. In 2022, she acquired a double PhD degree in religious studies at Utrecht University, NL; and in gender and diversity studies at Ghent University, Belgium, with a dissertation about Dutch women who became Jewish, Muslim or Christian. In her research, she focuses on the intersections of religion, gender, sexuality, and race from an ethnographic perspective.
